Plug socket
What the hell was I thinking? I completely forgot to shamelessly plug my own movie.
It's called The Bus (you can watch it here) and was featured in last year's Super Shorts Film Festival in the mystery & horror category. It is the product of a collaboration between myself and the irrepressible musician and filmmaker Jason Read. You may recognise the enormously talented and outrageously good-looking actor in the lead role.
Unfortunately I wasn't in London last September so I missed the festival screenings, but I hear from Jason that it got a good reception. It was also screened earlier this year at the Mocha Film Club in Bandra, Bombay to a tumult of acclaim and adoration. At least, I think that's what it was. It was sort of hard to tell. Not really! They loved it.
Anyway, quit stalling, instantly direct your browser here to enjoy a clever and gripping story told in just two minutes and five seconds (about half of which is the credit sequence). Please be sure to leave your comments after viewing. Jason and I are open to any criticism which frankly and fearlessly expresses how much you loved it.

Congratulations on your excellent film. Surely you are a star in the making. I see you as the new Lassie.
Yours etc,
Lance Bombadier Rear Admiral Ned Muldoon (Retd.)
Is that you, you lovely old Glaswegian buffoon?

The name was obviously my first clue to your identity, but of course there are many Iain Ball's in this world. Your passion for film making combined with your talent for writing was my second.
The footage was a bit blurred and the passage of time has taken its time on us all, but I was almost sure it was you.
It was the final sound effect (the unmistakeable drone of an imperial fighter) that was the final piece of the jigsaw.
It had to be you.
Hello Iain, it’s been a long time.
Now it’s your turn to play detective.
